In 2014, we purchased the ranch property and began setting up the barn, arena, and other infrastructure. We began training horses, starting with one we already had (Gus), adding 2 rescue horses (Roo and Bella) and one amazing draft cross (Romeo) to our herd. We held a grand opening in January 2015 and began teaching riding lessons and guided horse riding a few days later. In June that year, we held our first horse camp for kids and started the Wrangler program.
Over the years we have had the pleasure of training many students who began as children, have grown up, and some who have kids of their own now! We love partnering with families to help share the love of horses thru training.
Our program has grown and changed thru the years, but one thing has remained - we strive to care for our horses the vest best possible, train students to do the same, and make the relationship with the horse a priority.
We began serving the Texas Historic Commission by providing teams to pull the Concord Stagecoach at the Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site approximately 8 times a year then expanded to plowing, demonstrations, and serving in other historical events. We love to play a small part in preserving history with horses!
We also added horse and carriage service in fall of 2023, purchasing a brand new carriage and wagonette for formal events.
Our Wrangler program is unpublished, but an integral part of everything on the ranch. The Wranglers are volunteers who help us in many aspects including feeding, grooming, tacking, assist with lessons and guest rides, help with camps, and so much more. Opportunities to volunteer always begins with riding lessons as safety comes from knowledge and experience.
In 2024, we joined the Night to Shine volunteer vendors to provide free carriage rides for the Tim Tebow event for people with special needs. We are signed up for 2025 and are excited to provide carriage services again.
We hope to serve the community for many years to come.
